Powdercoating Aluminum

I know that aluminum pipes are better to use on your air intakes since they cool down quicker but what about if you powdercoat them? Aluminum tends to get dull after about a year and I hate polishing aluminum so i thought that powdercoating it would solve the problem of polishing. Just wondering. Thanks
