Has anyone transplanted a GN drivetrain into a Porsche yet? I ran into a nice deal on a 97 Carr  era 911 that is in need of alittle body work but has not drivetrain. Everything else is operational & mint. Could this be done? Thank you,

FWIW, I saw a kit car set up to look like a lambergine (sp) with a buick motor. I'm pretty sure it was rear engine.

You should do it just so you can go to Porsche clubs and say "yea, I put a buick motor in mine".

I know that the LS1 can fit into it nicely.... and a few have been done.

You need an engine that can rev high to make use of the gearing in the Porsche transaxle. The turbo Buick 3.8 is a low revving engine and its low end torque may break transaxle parts.

I have seen it done on a 911

It had a liquid intercooler on it and they had to put it in the pasnngers seat. It was a racing only type car but I dont see why it cant be done.

There is plenty of room in the back seat for it ;)

renegade hybrids and rod simpson both may have a kit and kennedy adapters has a adapter for the trans
