well i saw LEPCONS GN at Daytona and it gave me the motivation to finish my car. i built sealed enclosure kicks for the 6.5 components and made a fiberglass trunk trim piece covered with vinyl.used the same box as before.
punch 400-2 on two stage two tens, one punch 400-2 on the components.stereo powering the 3.5 and the 4x10 speakers.going for a classy look that matches the car well.sounds good, glad to have the car put back together...enjoy the pics, sorry for the low quality...using my phone...

Looks awesome! Is that a one piece tub? If so is it removable, or did you have to finish it in the car? That is VERY similar to what I am putting together....VERY similar!
btw, any pics of lepricons install?

thanks...you know how much time it takes to build something that looks so simple, but so hard to do,i lost track of the hours....and then stretch it in one piece of vinyl:eek: (the seam is along the rear ,vertical at the trunk lock hoop)
yes it pops out,if you notice the bottom is smaller that the top edge so it will come out.my first mistake was to not build a frame so it could be worked on outside of the car(i was worried about how much it would weigh) because i had to reinforce it before i could pull it out without it cracking, then i had to sand 10X as much trying to smooth out the reinforcing fiberglass.....alot of sanding....
ill find the link to his car....he made the demo kicker car and his tub/trunk was painted to match his electric blue paint...i was looking for something a little more understated....and alot less work or being worried of it cracking if i had to remove for any type of service.
\
here we go,he has alot of time in his, looks great too...

also Greg,i didn't wrap the top edge with the vinyl,i left it about three inches taller, set the tub in place, and folded it over the edge of the trunk, reinstalled the rubber trunk gasket, then cut off the excess vinyl so theres no light gaps.......

I love looking at that install process, and having done several like that, I am a little jealous you are done though. Its almost as much fun to build as it is to have, which is usually what someone says that didnt do the work...huh?! :) I will def give props for the one piece of vinyl, that I could not have done I dont think. I need a steamer. I'll have to show you pics sometime of a similar type build I did on a buddys car....every panel from dash to trunk was fiberglass. (Dash door panels, rear walls, console, rear shelf, trunk enclosure, and speaker box in the cabin...all smoothed and painted) Once you learn to f'glass, it gets a little addictive. Now you have me twitchin to stretch something!

i like pics too, because you're never to old or experienced to learn a new trick.I'm done yes,but Ive worked here at the shop all day, and then nights and weekends on the car seven days a week to get it done.its the shops demo,i needed to show what i can do.I'm new here and not many people know me yet.
i wish i would have taken more pics, but when Im in the zone,i didn't think about it often.
i used four way stretch vinyl without a heat gun:eek: time will tell if i put enough landau glue on it.
Ive only done very small pieces painted.its hard and i run out of patience...i need to get another spray gun and use high build primer, that would help.you would be amazed of the privative tools i have/use here...
i like "glassin too,the curves is what seperate us from the carpet panel guys(theres nothing wrong with carpet,i use it every day) and i love a challenge. got a 1970 cutlass vert coming in next week....i havent decided what im going to surprise the owner with yet....

the kicks are not vinyl.....they are sanded pretty smooth, then sprayed with duplicolor bedliner spray (if sprayed at about 10 inches away, you'll get a vinyl like grain) then dyed to match the interior.
i made some speaker pods for 5 1/4 in my 96 impala on the "A" pillars:eek: and then used this technique to finish them.i love watching people looking for the vinyl seam.....

They almost look like the were sprayed w/ the "texture coat" that SEM has. I hate to attach other install pics to your post since I dont wanna Deebow your thread. I can e-mail them to you or post w/ your permission. Its a cool install, but a lot too take in...major glassage!!
