Has anyone had their paint removed by using the plastic abrasive media? I am considering having the paint removed from my 87 GN with this method and I need some advise.

Any help would be appreciated.

Have you looked into Soda blasting? It does a great job removing paint without damaging the sheet metal. The only problem is that it will not remove rust. I don't know much about plastic abrasive media.

Soda Blasting

I have considered soda blasting but I understand it really makes a big mess.

what type of plastic media are you considering? 3M starblast is some of the best plastic media out there..... walnut mixed with a little glass bead works just as well and is just as gentle.

Soda blasting is a preferred method for alot of people because clean up is simple. pressure wash it out! its safe for the enviroment so down the drain it can go.

regular abrasives tend to pool up inside body panels and can be a real pain in the ass to remove. This can present a problem if it decides to blow out during painting or primer.
