Any recommendations on a decent paint job in Michigan? Don't really want to mortgage my house to get a decent paint job. Someone with some experience with body work, my car has a few waves that need to be straightened.

thanks,
ray

If you are willing to travel I know a guy in Muskegon that did my TY. Absolutley assume and it's black.

Let me know if you want more details.

paint job

Travel is not a problem if the work is right. Any other details would be appreciated.

thanks,

He's painted my TY, my buddies T, and both are show quality. I can't give you prices but it is VERY reasonable IMHO.

Check your mail I'll send you a couple of pics of my TY.

I'll get his # today and send that to you to.

I'm very confident that you'll be happy with his work.

I have a guy a little closer in Hudsonville.....painted my buddies GN and my Dad's 63 impala SS.....both were unbelievable!

He works alone out of a little shop and beats all the prices of the major body shops by a mile! I bring everything to him that needs paint.

They do custom work and would even offer a complete "down to the metal" prep...but then your talking some additional time and money. I had waves in my doors too and they are no longer....let me know if your interested.

I have the girlfriends car going there for an insurance job next week, so I can talk to him then and get a rough quote for you....but give me a little more info on what needs to be fixed and what your looking for in paint.

I'm the buddy Twins spoke of. Here are a bunch of pictures from my T & my GN Pete did.

I'm dropping of my Shelby Omni & the Wifes Burban later today.

His "Completes" run about $2500. He's one of the best IMO. He's just a no B.S. car guy that I can trust with anything I bring him. After the Omni & the Burb he'll have done 13 cars for me. (Friends & Family)

Hope this helps.

Paint Job

Maltman,
I am looking for a complete paint job. The car has no rust, however several dents and dings that need to be fixed. The car is black currently, and will stay black. Basically, I am looking for a nice complete paint job. Not necessarily show room, however close would be nice.

OTHRWMN,
Awesome pics! Both of your cars look really sweet.

My car appears to have had at least 1 repaint already. You can tell by the lack of detail. Whoever painted the car did not remove any of the trim, just taped and painted. Some overspray here and there.....

If you could, send me some phone numbers, and I could give the painters a call.

Thanks,
Ray

Do you mind if I email your painter?

I have been looking for the same thing but have been getting outragous quotes. Good references are good to have especially on a black car.

Quick update:

It would be better if you described the car yourself to get a good idea of the total cost....he said it sounded like 2500-3000 for sure....but he'd rather talk to you

....if you want, you can give him a call and talk it over.

Name is Steve (Koning) and phone # is 616-896-8005.

They are usually there from 9-5, but you probably won't get anyone during the lunch hour.

Here's a few pictures of his Blazer, and 1 of a gas tank he did for a bike. If you can look close at picture 3, you can kind of check out the hood, which is a grafted on scoop, not a complete hood. These pictures don't really do it justice though...
Pete's Blazer
He'll be doing my WE4 within the next year hopefully.
