Oops. All gears are neutral!

Well, I was hard into the throttle with the torque convertor locked up when the trans blew and all gears became neutral. Torque convertor is a Precision Vigilante 5 clutch. The trans was a rebuilt unit, supposedly "tough enough" but something gave. Local yokels are worthless. Where do I get a trans that's really "tough enough"?

sounds like you broke an imput memeber such as the input shaft,od carrier,od ring gear or forward drum.all these parts are available in updated hd versions from us.may also be pump drive or pump broke.either way trans removal and disassembly is necessary.we can set you up with a trans as well as repair the broken one in the car.feel free to contact us.

Sounds like you broke the shaft on the forward drum, 6 neutrals and a park .

Me too. Been there, done that.... 4 times Until I decided I was tired of busting the forward drum's shaft. Got a billet one in there several years ago, and can't break it.

I had Don Wang (DRW Trans) in Santee CA (when I used to live there) build it, using Bruce Toelle parts.
