right on.. i got around to meeting people on saturday after noon.. good to finally meet ya

Yep.. I will post more details later.

We need YOU 12-11 second cars.. That is what wins this event. The fast buick guys are there to do their part and push the ladder down.

Thanks for everyone that participated.

And shame on anyone that had a car in the parking lot that they didn't run. My cousin even tweaked on a Regal SC car and took a full 1/2 second off of it for the finals. He got beat by a powerstroked ford.. I think.

i cant wait till next year !!

Next year's date:
November 1, 2008
Halloween Test & Tune Friday night!!!

Couldn't get enough time away from work to finish up the GN.

I will have it there next time, come hell or high water. Gotta represent with all the other TX boys!

Should have a low 11/high 10 turbo t for the wife to run too.Hell if she won't I will!

Count me in for next year too. I had a good time, but I should've spent more time meeting all of you guys. A few things I will do different for next year - 1. learn how to race a turbo car. I had heck trying to spool at the line for some reason, had horrible rts and 60 fts. Ran high 14s and should've been high 13s. 2. Bring more car - will be ALOT faster next year, car wont be stock. 3. bring more cars - had 4 area cars that didnt/couldnt show, 2 are 10 sec cars. Ill probably think of more stuff within the next year though.

I say we just spread the word everywhere and keep talking about it all year. Seems like with all the other events that go on people forget about this one. When they are told it is too close to the event for alot of people to make plans for it.

Stay on top of promoting this event and our car count will go up.

good idea

This year was our second year & we had planned on it all year. Next year might stink for those of us with young children as friday night is halloween.

im thinking the same thing.. is there something we can do about this??

Maybe everyone can bring candy to the track? I can't take the kids out here then drive 475 miles all night to go racing at 8:00 am thats for sure. Probably could find a place to take them in norman too.

this is something that really needs to be adressed.. I also have to young children that are very much into Halloween, any reason why we cant hold the race on the same date as we did this year??

The reason why we cant is because there is an other event that is scheduled the 25th at Thunder Valley.

To what i remember that was the only day we could do it on, as in Nov. 1st.

As of the stop of the race:
Official Results:
Buicks 36
Fords 51

Red Lights
Buick 11
Ford 3

Extended to the end, the Fords had us covered in the remaining 6 races. Theoretically, it would have been 57-36.

Sandbaggers with ET’s .5 sec faster than dial in:
Buicks 8
Fords 14
*** Since the sandbagging occurred on both sides the additional gains on the Buick side were offset by additional gains on the Ford’s side. In the non-sandbagging scenario, all other “real” variables taken out, the Fords gained one additional win. Many think that sandbagging is the way to “win”.. not so, the Fords clearly should be up 6 races just by sandbagging right?

HERE IS THE IMPORTANT PART
Taking out all other variables, like red lights, slow reaction times, etc. If we simply had 5-6 12.50 et Buicks, the races would be tied. Only 11, 12.50 et Buicks to add to the ladder to cover the no race Fords would have netted us a win, 57-47.

Key points to be taken:
Get your cars tuned and to the track
Eliminate Red Lights – Buick Racers clearly didn’t have driving skills this race.
Bring your cars! Every car counts – not just the fastest ones.
Fastest Buicks, we hope to win their races, but biggest purpose is “also” to move then ladder down.

The results will be posted to okbuicks.com soon.

Thanks,
John Nguyen
