I was wondering, what is the pan fluid levels when it has sat for a day or two:
If it is within NORMAL RANGE on the dipstick, is it ABOVE the gasket/pan???
My tube bottom is just about at gasket level, dipstick goes about an inch further and approx 1/4" of the checkered normal area is below tube into pan....
so assuming I have correct dipstick/tube etc, that I am reasonably sure that I have, it tells me that normal levels are above the gasket, and high enough to go up into filler tube (to get to top of NORMAL range) ....
The main reason I was looking at all this, as I have a leak from around pump seal (I think) and wonder why it does not stop (until I drained the tranny  )
