No spark...No fuel.. Just turns over!

Hello ,
I recently bought a 85 Gn that is somewhat of a basket case !!Last weekend a friend and I went through the car with the info from the NO Start sticky... after about 4 or 5 hours of not really being able to get any results.. I noticed the SECURITY light flashing on the dash... I would hate to think that something that obvious would be the problem !!!!! But,I figured I would throw my situation out there and see if anyone else has had such an experience... Anyone know what triggers the security light ???? or maybe how to reset it??? Any input would be greatly appreciated !!!

After market setup?
If so there is a botton under the dash
Usually a Red or white square one
Push the button and turn the key at the same time to the on postion.
Not start postion
should go to steady on light

Its a factory setup... The Security light is up with the other "idiot lights "

The security light will flash with the system unarmed and the door open with the car not running. Does the light go out when you arm the system and have both doors shut? If it does and the light also goes out when you crank on the starter than it isn't the security system.
