Nissan Skyline, he pulled on me...

Damnit! After reading meanchicken's post i just happen to run into a black Skyline with paper plates while taking my buddy on a test run!

He saw me come from behind as he was turning into a shopping center and he decided to keep straight on the feeder road. My buddy and i saw him and i said lets see how the Buick will do. I have my old tires 235/60-15s and they are almost bald (waiting on my new wheels/tires). He looks over me as we are rolling at around 25-30 mph while i hold the brake to build up boost and then we nail it. He begins to slightly pull on me but never getting his rear bumper in front of me and then we had to shut it down. All about 3-4 seconds from about 20 mph. Thats my story and i am little pissed but thats the way it goes. I had the car at 27psi with alky and 769mv on the scanmaster.

+1. Wouldn't mess with them unless your in the 10s.

The new ones do 11.20's off the lot....and hit 60 in under 3...that's some nuts...

At least you kept it respectable.;)

On the way home from Beech Bend last weekend, I came across one on Scottsville Road. I pulled up along side him with the windows down, he gives me a thumbs up after looking over the GN. He didn't even act as though he had any interest in playing, he just showed respect where he knew that he needed to. Same thing with one of the new ZR-1's last year. You guys have ruined most of the action around here with the way you have torn up the streets at the GS Nationals in the past.

you ran alongside him with a 3255a and 235 radial from a roll i think you did quite well.not to mention the $ you don't need to spend to be even.

Word! Lets keep it in perspective here fellas...we are comparing a 24 year-old Buick to a brand new, world-class, AWD, twin turbo launch-controlled supercar here...

Awesome run man, those things are beasts and you held your own to say the least. Having the boost up near "baby boost - aka 30lbs" sure helps too.

Thanks fellas, once i get my sticky tires i will head to the track and fine tune. I should have my HD actuator today and once its on i should not have anymore boost creep. My target is 30 psi, i want to max out this turbo/combo...

Make sure you've adequately ported your WG puck hole on the exhaust housing too. That could be the source of your boost creep if it has not been ported.

The hole on my 6265 was pretty small (.90") when I bought it new, so I ported it out...and still had to go back an port it a little more...
I also took out some material inside the housing to smooth the transition to the hole so it would flow more naturally.

10-4, already taken care of ;)

The previous owner of the 3255 had the wg hole ported. I had to buy an RJC block off plate (and make a smaller hole on the plate) when i used my stock elbow because the stock puck would not seal. I now have my RJC 3" D/P and i took some measurements before i installed and the puck barely covers the hole now :) My actuator is maxed out and will not open the puck enough to bleed off the boost so that is why i am installing my HD today!

Meanchicken, how do you like the street manners of your 6265? I try to read most of your posts, especially your kills

Maybe it is our crappy air or just bad drivers but the fastest I have seen at the track is 12.5.

I see it the others, from a roll any driver can make the Skyline run well, and you don't know if he did any mods to his to make it even faster.

I take it you spun a little from the 20mph roll on those tires?

I'm actually a bit surprised you stayed with him from a roll with someone in your car on those tiny tires and small turbo. Add some timing and octane to your mix and with some tires you'd keep pace for sure.

Cool.
I'm loving the billet PTE6265 DBB. With my combo, it spools real nice and without completely disintegrating my 275/60/15 street radials....but they do burn for a good distance....
I removed my RJC boost controller to slow the spool and as a traction control adjustment for the street.... ;)

I also ordered it with the S ported cover to afford myself a little control over compressor slamming the turbo when letting off at WOT. I think compressor slamming is what killed my old TA61.

At the track, the RJC will go back on and I've purchased a set of 9" M/T slicks for the back and front skinnies mounted to Weldlites for track days. I'll be going back on Memorial Day weekend to see what kind of damage I can do and am planning on replacing my transmission and converter before then.

Before the day is over...I'm confident I'll be able to knock down at least an 11.10...but I'll save that for my last run since they will promptly escort me from the track after I do it....no cage or harnesses in my GN means anything faster than 11.49 will end my day...
So my first few passes will be partial tuning runs and I'll work on my launch before going for the glory:D

Ran up against on last year. He ran an 11.6 to my 11.5 but he got me off the line. Everyone I've seen at the track ~4 different ones all ran in the 11s. One still had the temp plate on it...

hopefully i will be the first official "Skyline spanking" soon, I have a guy that works for me and his father bought one about 2 months ago....I took my guy for a blast in mine and he's been in Daddy's car and basically told Dad he was getting spanked so of course, he's mouthy now  Will post once the Kill has commenced :p

Yes i spun :) I checked the tires yesterday and they are actually 225/60-15s  and still bald. I forgot to mention in my original post he had a passenger too :(. I call everyday to see if my wheels came in! Its no fun spinning!!!!!
