New to Vegas. Have a smog question.

What kind of smog inspetions does Vegas have? I have no EGR or cat and an open loop chip. Do they just have an idle test or do they use dynos? I'm thinking of leaving it registered in CA anyway but just curious if I just need the cat or if I need EGR too.

One more thing, where's the street racing?

If you can pass Cali smog, Vegas is a breez. On my mustang they just opened the hood, hooked up a tach wire and reved it up to about 2.5 or 3k with the sniffer on. that was it. The inspection at the DMV is even a bigger joke, they just check the VIN that's on the inside of the windshield, that's it.
Now when you go into the DMV that's when you get stroked.

There's a visual inspection to make sure that you have something that looks like a cat (and a gas cap).
1000 RPM idle (+/- 250 RPM) and a 2500 RPM test, no dyno
Your chances of passing with that chip are pretty slim.

I haven't been out and about for many years; Too many teens with "fast" imports.
