Its a BMW 2000 740i . 62,000 miles Apen Silver. This thing cruises effortlessly at triple digit speeds like you were doing 60mph and you can throw it into a turn like a sports car-no tire squeal little, body lean, effortless. For a 4000 lb vehicle similar in size to my 95 Impala SS-you can toss it around like a car 1/2 its weight. Quiet in the cabin at over 100. The V8 has similar HP and torque as the SS but it does it all with less noise and fuss. It just has a great fine mechanical sound to it when you floor it. MPG avg 26 at 85 mph but I am seeing closer to 20-21 avg of city and highway. The GN may never get a chance to come out and play anymore. Well, until some of the newness wears off. I use to have an 86 325E up until a year ago (traded when I bought my Dodge Dakota). On fact the old 325 carried 2 GN doors back from Fla to Mass a few years back. One door was sticking out the trunk and the other I strapped to the roof. That got me a few looks on the trip back up 95. Matter of fact I cruised back through Ga,S. Carolina and N Carolina at around 100 with all that luggage, wife, doors, etc. That car wasn't that biig. This 740 is big but it just does not feel big when you drive it (although the ride is smooth). It has a turning rafdius that I swear is 1/2 that of the Impala.
BTW, The Impala SS is now for sale for $8500 but I might haggle just a little.
