Need replacement VDO mechanical speedometer!

I don't think VDO makes a mechanical speedo anymore. They are all electronic. I have the mechanical 160mph VDO speedo in my AVC dash also. Some day I will change over to a 120mph speedo. The resolution on the 160 is terrible. Hard to tell what speed you are going without staring at it for a bit. I'm sure the electronic ones can be adapted into the dash and still have the speed sensor signal to the computer. What is wrong with yours? There are places that can repair them.

Nope, no mo mechanical ones being made
Needle broke, called a VDO speedo repair shop (North Hollywood Speedo) & told 3 week turn-around (plus transit time) min...
To go electronic means cost of speedo PLUS sensors & whatnot
already ordered new VSS speedo cable ($$) so I need to stick w/ mech unit

Good luck finding one, they are very very hard to find. Took me about 6 months of scouring the earth to find a 120MPH one and that was years ago.
Did you try Bob's speedometer?

Does VDO make a GPS speedo that looks like your existing unit? Those are pretty easy to wire up
