Need More Mph ?????

11.80 @ 109 MPH 1.47 60 ft
Something is wrong,
te-61 msd 50, 28 tall tire, c-16 gas, no knock. 25 psi boost
3200 stall ,locking conv, @ 80 mph
any thoughts ??

Maybe your trans is slipping? What is your rpms at the traps. My car traps 119 and I am at 5800 rpm's with a nonlockup using 28" tires. Also, what is your 1/8th mile ET and mph?

11.8 at 109 in the 1/4
only picking up 20 mph
 
had new valve springs,
02s around 750 t0 780
egt was 1720
i had fp up to 55 psi line off, i know high
trying to bring down the egt ????????????
 
I'm having the same problem as you. I'm running a 12.3 @ 107 and picking up 20mph after the 1/8.
 
Don,
I see you are locking the converter at 80 mph.
Maybe that bogged the motor slightly and it had to recover. I used to loose as much as 4 mph after locking my converter to early. I used to lock it at 90ish, with aluminum heads and cam. With your bad azz 60ft, and possibly an early lock up, I can see a slight mph loss. We locked another ride up a hair early (87mph) at the Norwalk track rental, and lost 2 tenths as well. I believe locking the converter and putting more load on the motor will raise egt`s as well. Brian Hofer (saw you at Jim Piper`s when I dropped off his trans)

1720 is wayyyyy lean. Shoot for 1550-1600....Some push to 1650.

Or rich and burning fuel in the headers... tough call, but its not making power for sure.

it could be locking around 85, its in the chip
i added more fuel, threw the chip, with the ac trick ??
but have not run it yet,
any other thoughts, on what to try,
