In Grateful Memory Of
NC State Trooper David Shawn Blanton Jr.
On Tuesday, June 17, 2008 Trooper David Shawn Blanton Jr. was shot and killed in the line of duty.
Trooper Shawn Banton was 24 years old and the first enrolled member of The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians to become a State Trooper. He worked for his Tribe as an Emergency Services Dispatcher before joining the NC State Patrol.
Trooper Shawn Blanton was also the proud father of his 2 week old son, Tye, who was born prematurely and is still hospitalized.
There is nothing anyone can say to the family of the slain Trooper that will lessen their pain.
Only our Creator can do that.
What we can do is help them pay bills while they suffer a level of grief we all pray we will never know.
We truly owe them that much. Their young man died protecting all of us.
There are two funds which have been created to assist the Blanton family.
The Michaela Nicole Blanton FBO Brendan Tye Blanton Fund
and
The Trooper David Blanton Memorial Fund
