This time of year again.. comes fast eh....
.. late last night I was listening to the talk back radio & this senior grand-fatherly figure rings in .. he was an father, grandfather & ex soldier ..... for the first time after 50 years of marriage.... he finds himself a widower.. and this was first christmas he has had alone...& he was trying to cope.. You couldn't help feeling for him as he choked back some tears of his wifes unsuccessfull fight for life.. and the annoucer felt it too.. It was one of those phone calls that captures & stops you in your tracks.
I guess there are thousands of people around the world this time of year who are alone for the first time or for whatever reason have a spare set at the Christmas dinner table.. but who knows the answer... Some are away on service to their country like so many in Iraq, Afganistan, Timor & elsewhere.., and for others... it was just their time.
.. just be thankfull for the time and the friends & family you have... Your toys can be replaced....
