Well a couple weeks ago my fiance bought me a Savage 110 FCP chambered in the ultra long range .338 Lapua Magnum as a wedding gift (pretty cool right?). I'm not into all the tacti-cool (110 BA) so the FCP is the perfect fit with its H&S stock which is on a couple of my 700s and works well.
I think I have magnum-itus since getting my 500 S&W Magnum and putting at least 1500 rounds through it I never go to the range and not shoot it (casting and hand loading makes this possible).
I shoot the 7mm Mag quite often and am becoming very proficient with recoil management and have shot as much as 60 rounds in one sitting (with rifle cool down time) during load development, its to the point that recoil is not something I consider anymore (like shooing a .223) which really helps the groups out.
now i just need to find a range long enough to make use of such a powerful round.... like my .500 mag and my GN I have no real practical use for it other than I want it...
