Hello evrerybody,

I always thought the 2nd generation of Regal was a G Body, but after some serch on Wikipedia, it is says the 78-81 models are built on the A platform...

Do you know what are the main technical difference between the A and G body platform for the Regal ?

Thanks

None. In 1982 GM split the A-body into FWD and RWD. The "A" went with the FWD and RWD became "G". The G-body cars like the Regal were technically called "A-specials" prior to 1982.

A 1981 Regal and 1982 Regal are the same car.

And to further confuse the topic Pontiac called their 78-80 A-Special(Grand Prix) a G-Body. Probably why GM went with the letter G for the 82 and newer years.
