I read a post recently with a link to a scanned article about a controversy that the last GN actually was raffled to a factory employee and not the one that went to Spring Hill, LA. Anyone have that link or know more about that? Thanks

I think one was the last on made, and the other was the last one sold..or something like that.

In Steve Dove's F&F book, the letter to Bob Colvin states that '465288 "was the final car produced at this plant." and is signed by the plant manager.

The 'other' last GN is '465289. Does anybody know for a fact the cars are always produced in the same order as the sequence number? Is it possible that '465289 could have come off the line ahead of '465288?

I find it hard to believe the manager would sign this letter knowing that there was one more car left on the line. '465288 is very well documented. Is '465289?

I read somewere that 289 came off the line before 288 because 288 was missing some part to be finished
