Knocking for no good reason?!

Hi all-

My car is knocking to varying degrees and I can understand why. 91 octane, SMC dual nozzle (pump speed all the way up) car's knocking any where from 0.2 KR to 4.0 at WOT -18psi. I've even been turning the spray on point lower and lower- down to 5 psi, and still knocking. I don't get it.

Sounds like false knock to me. You could try some higher octane just to verify but the alky should do the same. Check the TC bolts, flexplate, motor mounts, etc. Basically look for anything making noise. One way is to pull the E-brake, and hold the foot brake, then powerbrake it with a friend watching the motor, see if he hears anything or sees anything moving or making noise.

Have you verified correct fuel pressure?
