I got one from GM fairly recently, are you sure they discontinued it?
3.8lt TTA Knock Sensor
.. Jason.. I checked with that site, but not phoned them yet.. they do list for a 86-87 Buick GN Turbo but not on the same site do they list the 89F TTA..
My references... reference available units for Buick from GM still # 213-325 for Fed & CA Emission Grand National cars, it is also listing 213-33 for 3.8lt 7 code engines.
But.. again back to TTA's..the reference is deleted on the site Jason refered to for TTA Knock sensor.
On AC Delco.com the part is listed as 216-42.. which is actually 16051654.. but also listed as obsolete. Further references to interchange I have shown only 1987 GN Turbo is the interchange... not 86... as listed below.

I buy mine from AC Delco. Part number 213-325. On the box it also lists the GM#10456287
Bought one three weeks ago for the new motor.. didnt seem to be an issue.
Need to call on Teuday and find out availability.. if its getting disco'd.. i'm stocking up.

Dave, as Julio said Delco #213-325 and GM #10456287 "Made in Mexico".
My understanding is that these where used on a number of common GM cars?
Julio, how often have you found the knock sensor to go bad? I installed a brand new one on my TTA recently to see if this was the issue with my knock (but made no difference) so got a used one sitting around that is good but if these been discontinued I might pick up a spare or two.

....?? thats conflicting...& www.acdelco.com conflicts itself....

.. then why is it when you go to the AC Delco site.. it references 216-42 (16051654) as the only one for a 3.8lt TTA and has it as Disco'd... UNLESS its got a history.. and # has been changed or they simply flog you off to the common 5lt / 5.7 litr unit etc.
IF THIS DOES NOT MAKE SENSE TO YOU EITHER.. just go to the www.acdelco.com site and look up 216-42..

Dave, beats me ... just looked in my GM parts & illustration book from 1992 and they list GM #10456017 but I know that is a old number but maybe you can cross reference that one?
When you buy parts for the TTA.. you first buy them for a GN. The books are all screwed up as to crosses with these cars.
The computer, short block, esc, coil pack, ignition module, etc.. are all the same as the 87 GN. The only part that basically is different is the spark plugs, valvecover gaskets, and header gaskets(if used).. the rest of the engine.. 87 Buick.
Looking for 89 Firebird parts that fit your TTA will get you into trouble.
Jan.. I replace mine everytime I install a "freshened" engine.. As I take it off to get the block cleaned/machined/etc.. my last one I forgot to remove and loading it into the truck.. damaged it. As far as going bad.. it shouldnt, unless one phsically damages it.

.. thanks Razor.. if your have been using the 213-325. ... the common unit thats fine then.. Mine simply has the connector melted & making a constant bad connection etc.
Jan.... #10456017 is confirmed as an earlier 3.8lt TTA knock sensor also.. .. looks like the cross was crossed and deleted etc etc.. It is also discontinued. Thanks.
