is this normal??

I come home today. pull in my driveway, go to put it in reverse, the indicator shows reverse and i give it gas and it just revved like in neutral. i put it in park. back in reverse. It worked fine. Could the trans been in neutral and been lighting the R alittle bit? i don't remember how much i had to push it to get it in park. Then i go to check my oil a little later. The hose that goes from the turbo to the intercooler is melting on the bottom. At first i thought it could have been oil. But no, it is the hose. Only one spot. Anyone else have this problem. No problems before, could something cause more heat from the turbo which would make this happen?? any info is appreciated.
