internet explorer virus?

well i get this email today from a parts guy i bought from about 6 months ago...
we exchanged many emails and i think i was on his adress thing or something
i get an email from him today

his name.... internet explorer 6...... 118k

so i think he wrote me something big

it is empty
as soon as i open it my computer slows down and sounds like it is "thinking" ya know when you can hear the processer

well now the internet is really really slow and just not running good at all

well if anyone gets an email with that topic... i suggest dont open!

especially if somehow it is from me !!?!?!

So....... what type of antivirus protection are you running and when was the last time you updated the definition files????


If the answer is none.......

There is NO excuse nowadays for not having any protection and not updating it....

i have norton antivirus...
this file said it didnt have any attachments so i didnt think twice about it...

Time to update definitions and do a full scan.. I'm confused as to the sender was internet explorer 6 or the subject..?

Have you done all the MS security patches (Windows Update?)

If so, be sure your AV is up to date and do a full scan.

Also, do a search on the web and download this program "Spybot"

Install it and UPDATE it. Then scan your PC - you'll be surprised at what you find.
