Is anybody using an inline oil filter for their ball bearing turbo? I talked with a DSM owner the other night and AGP Turbo recommended he use one. Here's a picture of what he's using: http://www.agpturbo.com/nate3.jpg

Anybody have any thoughts on this? Good or bad? Any other options for filtering?

the same stuff that can mess up your turbo will mess up even more expensive parts of your engine.......these "turbo saver" type filters are usually a waste of $$

if you want to be real conservative, just block the bypass on your oil filter (and make sure it is warm before any high rpm stuff)

(and don't blow any stock type headgaskets)

I'd say it can't hurt at all. If you motor goes it will protect the turbo which is better than having to fix both of them

I'd just make sure it will flow enough oil and have enough filter media to keep passing oil after it gets some contaminants in it.

I talked with Turbonectics last week about this before I ordered my BB 70. The tech told me that they put a screen in were the oil fitting is.
