Guys,

Can you tell me the advantages and disadvantages of going lock-up and non lock-up for for a street car application. Also, is it the converter that dictates whether it is n/l/u & l/u or tranny? I drive my car mostly on the street and hit the track once a month.

Well, obviously with a n/l you're gonna loose a little gas mileage, not sure just how much. I just installed my 9" real AC last night and have a few other things to do before I can test it out, but it's supposed to be w/in 200 rpm at cruise compared to a lockup. I'm not sure about any other brands. Between being smaller and not having the lockup mechanisms in it, it is a significantly lighter than my D5. The only thing I had to do to the tranny to be able to run a n/l was install Art's n/l front pump valve. (also installed a hardened stator b/c mine was worn.) If you don't already have one, a tranny cooler should probably used w/ the n/l. Hope that helped some. :D
