my car starts fine then just shuts off.... sometimes you can drive for awile then it just shuts off while driving ??? i was told that it is the ignition module??? does this sound right?? also napa sells one for 107 and one for 230 is there a difference?? they said was the same but was not shure?? any help would be greatly appreciated!!! also should i change coil pack too??

do you have a ...

scan tool, this can come in handy when a problem arises.
did you lift the coil-pack to see if there are any burnt areas in the ign. mod. melted wires, etc.?
there are several things that can cause the problem from loose grounds to bad motor mounts.(really!) That's why most of us use an engine tie-down strap/anchor to prevent the engine roll. check all your grds. it's cheaper than throwing money at it. as "the Machine" stated a bad or loose crank senser will cause the problem.
It helps to have someone close by that would be willing to swap the suspected parts or loan a scan tool if you don't have one.
someone else will have to verify the correct module from napa, as I have only used the gm. but I believe it's the pricier one and yes I would, if I could afford it, go w/the new coils.

thanx for your help!! i will run up and get a crank sensor and pull off coil packs and take a look!!will probably go ahead and replace both! do you think the gm maybe better than napa??

Somone much older and wiser than myself told me to buy 4 things for this car...a MAF(original if possible), ignition coil, ignition module and a crank sensor. The first 3 because they dont make them anymore for our cars and it dosent hurt to have them and throw them in the attic for a rainy day. They are rare pieces to be sure. They are alos by far the biggest 3 culprits to make u pull your hair out when troubleshooting.

The crank sensor is readily available but u need a spare in your glove box at ALL TIMES! Ask me how I know...trying breaking one on an interstate coming back from the track at 10 pm and not an Autozone in sight:mad: . Once it breaks...your dead in the water. Just my 2 cents...
