Fusible links... run power up from the starter to power various components. They are there to save you from melting down in case of an overload.

You know how when you go to race that guy thats been running his head and then he says he needs you to give him some car links. They usually request these when you refuse to race from a roll.

they sell fusible links at any parts store in the country... never heard them called "car links" before, but i also didn't know until a couple of weeks ago that Alabama folks call a knitted hat a "toboggan"- which is a kind of sled 'round these parts...

You know thats what had me. I am well aware of what a car length is and why the torque-less wonders would want them in a race but its when I hear 'Car Links' that I used to get confused.
