Years ago I fell in love w a '56 chevy 2 door bel aire a local guy had.. I am talking like 25 years ago. I had always wanted one since that day and my wife bought me a '55 2 door post that is in need of a total restoration.. I am in no way prepared for that task and would like to track down the '56 from my youth. I found out last year that it had been in my town for years and I didn't realize it. Now I want to find it. IT was sold at an auction in Kansas and went to Pennsylvania. I am in Michigan. I know the last owner that sent it to auction and I assume I can get the vin# and maybe the auction could help. Am I chasing a lost cause here? How hard will it be to find with limited info and what info do I need? My options are restore the one I have or find the '56. I am sure the one I have will cost way more than I can afford to restore.
