How to tell if a ecm is modified

Is there a way to visually see if a ECM has been modified for low impedance injectors? Can the case be opened and inspected for these changes? My car is currently under construction so I can't plug it in to see.

Both of mine cane back with some sort of writing on the case that indicated they have been modified.

Usually there will be a sticker or writing directly on the case to indicate the mod. If the bottom has been opened up for DirectScan you can look inside, but describing what to look for will get pretty longwinded . Otherwise you would have to pull it completely apart to check. My bet is that if there is no label then it isn't. Oh, if it hasn't been and you put it on the car with low impedance injectors to "test" it to see if it has been modded, the way you would know it failed was from the smoke .

I had Red modify my drivers years ago, and there are no labels or any indications that my ECM was altered. On the other hand. Bob Bailey does label his.
