a '99 Camaro SS with SLP package. 6-speed, borla exhaust, air lid, 160 thermostat, reprogrammed computer and 4:10 gears.

Low 13's???? I know the later LS1's had the nicer intake and may have been a hair quicker.

I have a 99 TA, only mod is a borla and it does 13.3 on stock GS-C's.

It's not unheard of to hit 12's mostly stock, his should be close with those mods.

On the other hand, I've have seen a lot of mid to high 13 second LS1 cars (stock). Maybe they're bad drivers?

Pete

I have an auto with 2.73 gears, and I hit 13.52 stock. My g/f's stock '01 Z28 was also a 2.73-geared auto and she went 13.36 bone stock. 6-speeds are faster, and the 4.10's might help also. If he's a good driver he could probably hit about 13 flat on crappy all-season tires, high 12's with sticky rubber.

Bone stock 3.42-geared '01-'02 6-speeds have been known to hit 12.9, but that is very rare and this car is a '99 (older intake manifold).

my brothers 00' Z28 6speed went 12.90 at 110.51mph. only mods were a lid w K&N, short throw shifter, and SLP loudmouth catback

LS1s respond VERY well to mods and are extremely quick on the top end. be careful

That's a TON of MPH, what was the 60' time? Are you sure these were teh only mods? I don't want to sound like a dick but I almost wanna call BS on that.

60ft was 2.1X i believe, id have to check to be sure. it was the end of November when he ran that time at Cecil. he made 3 runs that night, a 13.05, the 12.90, and a 12.97. mph was always 109/110. shifts were at 6200rpms

I was just curious because i was thinking of buying one and this is a good place to ask. The way my GN is set up 12.90's would be easy prey. If they have heads, cam, headers, etc, then I may have a race.

There is a local guy here that went 13.1@110 mph. 2.3 60'. He just has some kind of cold air intake, aftermarket exhaust, and a computer mod. Sorry I don't know the brands of the mods, I am LS1 dumb. ;) I bet his car with traction would do high 12's at 106-108 mph. MPH always seems to go down when the 60' goes down.

Don't underestimate them, they can be made very fast with just bolt-ons. My bolt-on C5 went mid 11s through stock manifolds and cats.

I'm very aware, one of my best friends has a 99 auto that's gone 10.7's. It's his dailey driver as well.

6-speeds trap higher than autos, and my best trap when I was bone stock was 105.79. With a lid and cutout I recently hit 106.50, and not with the best air that Ive seen. For a 6-speed manual, 110 is very attainable under good conditions.

A tork conv like a Yank wakes the autos up . .5 sec is not out of the question.

My 99 Z28, a4 w/3.23's went 13.6/103.4 bone stock at Reynolds last fall. Now my mods are as follows:
free ram air\removed front swaybar\descreened maf\SLP lid\cutout and my best is 13.2/106.5. I need to change my plugs and wires and go through some sensors soon though, because last december I ran at a local 1/8th track and ran an 8.44 and on the 13.2 run at Reynolds I only got a 8.57.

i have a 2000 WS6 TA,IT WENT 13.21@108.51 with a 2.2360 ft all stock,i added a k&n and changed the air lid and deleted the cats and went 12.92@110.32 with a 2.0860 ft,its a 6 speed and it was cool weather in fl.,ls1's make really good mph,i'm afraid to put drag radials on because the rearend is weak in these car, clutch also

I am an avg driver...had a 00 t/a with lid...dynomax muffler and 3.42s...best was 13.39 @ 107...with around a 2.1-2.2 60'. I'd imagine gears and tires might have gotten my car down to the 12.8-9 range...MAYBE more dunno. Some tires and a nice launch and you oughta have ls1 for lunch pretty easily.

My 99 C5 just went 7.97@87.9 with nothing more then an air intake, yank convertor and 3.42s. Rest of the car is 100% stock.

I had almost the exact mods on my 2000 WS6 and went 12.9@110 on F1 radials (and I'm an average driver). The only difference was I also had MAC midlength headers.
