How Much of a Difference

I grabbed this off of a modeler's website.

>>A model in 1:4 scale would be ¼ the size of the real car. A model in 1:12 scale would be 1/12th the size of the real car and so on. Keep in mind that cars like a Top Fuel Dragster would be much larger than say a street car even though they are both in 1:18th scale.

On average, the following model sizes would be close approximations:

1:64 scale: 1-2 inches long

1:43 scale: 3-4 inches long

1:32 scale: 4-5 inches long

1:24 scale: 6-7 inches long

1:18 scale: 8-9 inches long

1:12 scale:12-15 inches long

1:8 scale: 20-24 inches long
