I am just wondering how you can tell what the stall speed is on a torque converter?? I have one that has d5 one it and I was told that it is 2400 stahl. I have another that has 71 on it and I was told this was 3000 stahl. Is any of this true? Or should I scrap them and buy one brand new so I know what it is for sure??

A stock D5 is around 2000 stall. If it has been rebuilt/modified it could be anything. If it hasn't been painted it is most likely stock. The only real way to know is put it in the car and try it.
