ha! i got you all to read.. well.. hum. im having a random problem..

wot... rpms fly up.. SHIFT.. car dies..

its like the motor torques over and grounds out.

HOWEVER...

new batt cable.. it cant do that, its not touching anything.

ground cable is fine.. its not touching anything either..

WTF?

Does just the engine die or the whole car? At night do the headlights go out too?

Definately sounds like a bad connection somewhere. Did you check all electrical connections?? Is the motor grounded well??

Had the same problem

You replaced the battery cable eh? I'll assume you loose all electrical when you say the car dies. I had that problem. It turned uot that the nut on the starter solenoid where the cable goes came loose. Here's the odd part. It wasn't the outer nut, it was the inner nut that holds the solenoid to the starter. It came a little loose when the motor jerked. Tightened it up, good as new!

Anybody got a free good 4.1 motor around Western Maryland? Didn't think so. Sucks to be poor and in need of a fresh motor.

nah, it was just the engine, everything else, radio, ligts, etc stayed on. its fixed though.
