Help needed:'98 Park Ave rear defog problem

Rear defog quit on my '98 Park Avenue.The defog button lights up,The fuse is good.Any ideas would be appreciated.Thanks.

Probably a break in the window line. Check voltage/resistance at each line. Check a Chiltons manual they say how to go through the testing/troubleshooting.
Sorry Im kinda vauge, I've only had to do it once.

But wouldent a break in the line only affect that line on the grid,not the whole defogger?

True...I guess check at the fuse, then on back to where the grid starts.

check for power at driver side of rear glass. use voltmeter. you should have 12 volts to connector at rear glass if you have power there you might have a bad connection. take voltmeter and put positive on one side of glass and negative on other side of glass at connectors where wires hook to glass . if you have power at one side and not the other you have bad connection or break in wire . best thing would be to get a wiring digram. good luck
