Im reaching out to my fellow members here to get some help with my other project. I have a cutlass 442 that is getting a built zz430(430hp 430tq Chevy small block 350ci). It has a 3.73 rear. I was going to put a fresh extreme automatics stage 2 BRF trans in there. However, I have been doing some reading that BRFs shift around 5200rpm and that its not ideal for a v8? I want to shift at 5500. I have read posts that the BRF is only good for turbo Buicks and that I should get a Monte SS trans(CZF I think?). Or do I have my KZF built? Im just going to stop there since I am a dummy to transmissions and would just like to hear your recommendations.

Help selecting a non locking converter would be appreciated as well. :)

If you want 5500 rpm shifts I would make that clear to the builder along with the fact you are using 3.73 gears and the zz430 . Shouldn't be a problem.
Who ever is building should be able to reccomend a converter too.
