Further to the post on ticking that disappeared.
The plot thickens.
I get a ticking sound that sounds like running you fingernail across a comb - continuous. It only seems to occur in N and P and seems to be coming from the TC. The post that disappeared suggested making sure that the verter to flexplate is shimmed correctly. Well, I did that and slightly stripped one of the lugs in the process.
The noise was gone... until it warmed up !!!! Then it came back again It sounds like it’s coming from the verter. I can’t see it hitting anything, and it seems only to happen when hot.
I checked my trans oil level hot and it is too high – could it be this ?
When I give it a little more gas (mild acceleration) my 1-2 goes flat. and since I’m over full, it can’t be cavitation... a toast torque converter ?
I think I might be losing power too when the trans is hot.
Is all this related to a toast torque converter?
Confused D.
