I am re-doing the heads "293"on my stocker.Over 150 runs and finally lost a head gasket.I an looking for any feeback members may have on this major malfunction many turbo cars have.I use the buick stock head gaskets "thin" and buick head bolts.I will be using the buick heads gaskets again,but may use any aftermarket head bolts.Thanking you all in advance.

84 and early 85 's use steel shims and have the same basic block you have..

you can get arp head bolts for it but id stay with the stock bolts if i were you .

other words reuse what you took out they are hard to beat..

My personal openion on this "major malfuntion" is due to a low # of cyl. head bolts per cyl. I believe the Stage II blocks addressed this problem. Also, it's common for a lot of older motors to have more bolts per cyl.
Not enough head sealing bolt are a common problem on turbocharged motors from what I've been hearing.
