Gov. Spring ???

I drop the Gov spring and was doing a search and see its a common problem. I didnt really understand about the screw part and the added weight and etc. Could someone please explain is to me dont feel like have the spring fly out again.

Also does anyone have one of these modified to where you can just buy one???

Tap the small hole that is on the side that the gov. spring used to be on to fit a small setscrew in it, after tapping the hole, put the setscrew in with red permanent loctite on it. Make sure that the weights can still move their full distance with the setscrew in. The setscrew will add a small amount of weight to the weights, resulting in a slightly sooner shift. Good Luck.

It was an 8-32 tap. No need to drill before tapping.
