Gn Stolen!!!!

I have officially joined the "Stolen GN Club". Sunday afternoon my 87 GN was taken from my work garage (Casino) that has roughly 20 surveillance cameras in it. I'm still kinda' numb about it all. I parked it at 11am and returned to an empty parking spot at 730pm. Contacted security and notified the police, but pretty much knew that it was a lost cause. They had me ID it on tape today (Monday) that it was my car being taken. It was taken at exactly 12 noon, so somebody had done there homework as far as knowing my schedule. I didn't see all the tape, but they said a black male approaches the car and is there a couple of minutes before it was taken. There was no glass on the ground, so I am guessing he slim jimmed it. I had just had some high end stereo equipment installed the Friday before, so my first thought was they made a duplicate key. But it shouldn't have taken a couple of minutes to get into it if he had the keys. The cameras that caught it being taken are too grainy to see anything clearly. Security was checking one camera that is focused to see the passengers as the cars are leaving the garage, so it should have a good look at him. I had filled it up the night before, so not only did I give them a 7 1/2 hour head start, I gave them a tank of gas too! No alarm or kill switch or stun guns or GPS tracking or guard dogs or other 'in hindsight' stuff ya'll are gonna' say I should have had. Now I get to start the fun part of dealing with my insurance(State Farm) and will probably get dropped.

Anyways, it's Louisiana tags KOG 505, but honestly, since he probably has run the hell out of it already and f'ed something up royally, I hope it doesn't get found.

I am very sorry to hear about your loss. hopefully you will get a new one or find your old one in good condition. There have been just way too many GN's stolen lately. I hardly take my car anywhere and use hidden kill switches for that reason.

That sucks!

Sorry to hear you joined the stolen club! I agree with Ash these cars seem to get stolen way too often!!!! I seriously think there is some sort of theft ring or maybe these low life scumbag motherfockers just see these cars as a perfect target because they are fairly easy to steal and they are rare (desirable).... Regardless of the reason this should serve as more motivation to get a daily beater and/or look into some sort of kill switches (for the guys that must drive them daily) as well as anything else that might prevent them from taking it....

FWIW, I hope they find your car in good condition (wishful thinking at best) and I also hope the guy that took it dies a painful death or at least gets put in jail (where he is anally raped daily)!!!

get a job and buy your own....damn

reading stories like this make you paranoid

What is it, like every other week that I get on here and read a thread like this? This is boolsheet! I don't know where the guy who stole your car is....but I hope he's in alot of pain.

Theres a club

I have been in the club for 9 years then. I will let you know if they ever find my 84 TR.

They did find the frame and a wheel and some other stuff from it but nothing complete or salvagable.

I would be utterly inconsolable. So sorry this happened to you.

May the MF who stole it die with festering boils!

I've got to put a better security system on my car.....

F&%&@in a man too many damn people getting there cars stolen protect yours with your life!!!!!!

There was a 40k mile gn stolen down here last week. Stolen out of the driveway at noon. Guy walked up to the car, took the car cover off, it was only going to sit outside the garage for about an hour, and got in and drove away. Must have had keys.

I always am sure to use my own security device. getting one installed is just asking for another group of people to find out what you have and how to disarm it. Only way mine is going away is a tow truck. And the driver better be duckin Got a motion sensor and I now have a permit to carry my .38 :D

Bummer....I guess that's why I don't ever leave my TTA unattended :(

Hang in there, only time will sooth your soul ;)

I'll keep my eyes peeled here in Mobile for it. If I see it I'll introduce the driver to my friend Mr. .45 auto. Anything special to look for other than the tag #?

That Sucks!

Sorry to hear that.............:(

I hope it gets found unscathed....

Real sorry to hear it man, will be on the lookout here in central MS, and I too will be happy to introduce the rat bastard driving it to Mr Beretta.

bad news

:( Sorry to hear of your loss! :( Everyone needs to use one kill switch! Park against something with the wheels turned so they can't be towed. Better be sure if all else fails that you have agreed value insurance. :(

Thanks guys. I appreciate the offers to look out for it. I checked back with security today(Tuesday) and they did not have a clear shot of his face. That particular camera had been moved to cover the plate numbers instead of the passengers. Imagine that. Really starting to think it was an inside job. The stereo guys wouldn't have had time to know my work schedule so I believe the f#cker just got lucky that I had gotten my stereo stuff installed 2 days earlier. A list of the stuff off the top of my head in no order:

TA-49 turbo
Mease downpipe with dump
Alky
MSD 50 lb injectors
Walbro 340 with hot wire
HR poly motor mounts
Mease big neck intercooler
AFPR
Ramcharger dual fans
Black up-pipe and maf pipe with K&N
Thumbwheel chip
Weld Pro-stars with 275/60/15 Nitto drag radials
Rear seat brace kit
Scanmaster
Kenwood Excelon Z828 disc player
2 Zapco Z200C2-SL amps
MB Quart component seperates

OH....and least I forget... a just installed 2 months ago 2004r that had every upgrade or billet piece available for it with a 3200 stall that cost $2700!!!

Nice, huh?!?

The car was nice enough that it won 1st place in it's class at the 2003 World of Wheels here in Shreveport when I bought it completely stock with 49000 miles on it. I already know and can feel it coming, the battle with my insurance company who will insist that it is 'only' a Regal despite the several times I asked specifically if they knew it was a Grand National, to which they said yes. In preparation, I have printed the NADA high retail value which is $22000 (yeah, it really does have it that high!) and 11 different ads on Autotrader.com for GN's with similar miles or mods that range from $14000 to $18000. I have a bunch of pics of it that show it is in immaculate condition. Also, I have some of the receipts and most of the confirmation emails for the parts mentioned above. If any of you guys have any other ideas or suggestions, please let me know.

Again, thanks guys!

If State Farm gives you major problems let me know. I have a few friends who are big guns with them and may be able to help you out. I really hope it's found and I have told a few buddies around here to keep an eye open for it.
