Will a gas tank out of an 85 T work in a 87 T? Thanks

I know I have seen them. But what about the tank out of an 85T will it work for my 87T. I'm a poor college student and if I had an extra $160 I would think I was rich, quit school and retier. The problem is my tanks leaking and I need something cheep to get me by.

I know I'll get flamed for this but I fixed my leak with the gas tank repair stuff you find at the parts store.

If the 85 is a Turbo car, then it will work. If you are looking for something cheap, then try the gas tank repair kit that you find at auto parts stores. I have used it too, and it worked well. Then, save up for a new tank. If this 85 tank is cheap, and I mean real cheap, then you could do that, but just make sure that it isn't going to start leaking on you right after you put it in.
