Before i start to look for the fuel tank sender wire, what color should it be?? Does the wire run inside the car or along the frame??

Is it part of the pump wiring?? I'm wiring a new gauge ( Auto meter ) and need the correct wire. Any good point under the dash were i can look for it????

thanks

Paul

Pink wire, per page 8A-80-3 of the Electrical Diagnosis Manual.

I'm pretty sure it must run under the d/s door sill panel in the plastic channel that contains all of the other wiring running back to the rear of the car. I know that the fuel pump power wire is in there. The fuel pump assembly has 3 wires: Pump power, fuel gage sender, and ground.

BTW, the Manual indicates that the sender reads at 90 ohms full, 0 ohms empty.

gas gauge

Thanks Ken:

I will look for the wire tomorrow and hopeful have a gas gauge working. The Gauge is set for 90 ohms full, but i was told that the digital dash uses a little highter ohms ( 120 ) sending unit, will give it a try !!!!!!!!
Thanks again
Paul
