I just picked up a 340 and hot wire kit im going to install this weekend.

Is there any online (i searched here) like a step by step procedure of dropping the tank and installing the fuel pump?

Just want to have an idea of what i am getting into before i do it.

Thanks

Rob

There is also a great write up with pics & some extra mod tips by Earl Brown on the TBS site. I have a tip in there for a good ground wire set up as well. Can only help!

Most people replace the stock "pulsator" on the pump's outlet with a short section of 5/16 fuel hose, so as to guarantee no 'internal leaks' inside the tank.

Note that standard SAE 30R9 fuel injection hose is not rated for submersion in gasoline. The outer jacket is said to swell and eventually the hose will fail. SAE 30R10 hose is rated for submersion.

eg, see:

or

Gates Hose # 27093 is the 5/16" ID submersible hose, SAE 30R10 spec.

It comes in 1 ft lengths, costs about $13. Pricey, but it seeems to be the right hose to use inside the gas tank.
