Is there a question here or something you are having probs with?
I am having problems with finding a fuel pump to replace the original that has #2699 etched on the lower end of case. The upper # is 1197. This pump is longer than all the replacement pumps I have found? It also has a pulsator about the pump in place of a hose. This pump is about a inch longer than the replacements I have compared. Any help would be appreciated. Just bought the car after sitting for seven years and I'm trying to get it running.

Why wouldn't u just go with a walbro 255 or abunch of other after market drop in fuel pumps ??

I just bought the car w/32000 miles trying to keep it original. I don't know what pump I need to put in it to have the pressures and flow right. I hear a lot about hot wire kit but don't know how it works or why I would need it. I have a race car, don't need or want another one. just want to drive this in town not at the drags. also thinking about a chip but don't know what to get.

The pulsator is how the original was set up from the factory.
The hotwire kit can be installed without cutting and splicing and it ensures a full 13-14 volts makes it back to the pump. The original wire is pretty thin and resistance can increase with age and prematurely kill a pump.
As much as you would like to keep originality it would hardly be considered molested if you upgraded pump which no one would see unless they removed the gas tank. The pressure is regulated by the fuel pressure regulator and shouldn't be an issue unless you bought a mega high volume pump, and you would probably easily recognize a high volume it was because it would be more expensive.

This one might be the most simple to install:

I personally I like the Deatchwerks has a better warranty but is a universal so wiring may need to be modified at the pump hanger, but it is a simple two wire install and probably could use the connector end from your old pump. The DW200 255 LPH
