Fuel pressure regulator killed by gauge

Thought I might share this experience with everyone.

Went to adjust my accufab fpr before heading to the track. Noticed that after lowering the pressure a couple of pounds(43) baseline that the pressure dropped off to 34 and would no longer regulate up or down. I have a Marshall liquid filled gauge mounted on end of fuel rail.

Pulled fpr and found small piece of metal in it. Pulled gauge off of fuel rail and found small machined set screw in fuel rail. I know everyone mounts these little gauges on the fuel rail, mine was on about 3 months. That screw goes in the gauge. It is externally threaded and actually screws into the inside of the threaded part of the gauge. Appartently it backed out out fell down into rail and part found its way into the regulator. Sure messed up weekend.

Later,

John
