Finally hit the 9's

What blade stator? You can PM me if it's a secret lol

Its not a super duper secret ....... The only secret is all the boost........it just a 17 blade . I liked the way clints 17. Blade acted vs the 18 blade he had before .

I just got Bob Bailey car running again and I have been driving it a bit and I like how the 17 blade is on the highway.

I just have a question do you think it having a non lock up now over the 9/11 will I need to get a bigger trans oil cooler . the one I have a pretty good size .

Again, that's just what I've noticed

From what I've noticed, they all act the same on the highway, even the brake stall is pretty close. The biggest difference is the coupling point at a given HP level, if a 17 blade couples at 4600 on the 2-3 shift, than an 18 would be around 4800 with the same hp.

Well in clints car it seems to bottom out on the 2-3 shift at 5250-5300 per xfi.

So assuming everything else is the same, at the same hp level, yours should be close to that

For comparison my 138-140mph passes at 25psi the converter flashed to 5400-5450 with high viscous hyd oil. At 29-30psi it was flashing to 5550. 18 blade stator

The 9/11 was in the 5400/5450

Last frame of wot was 5800 with a 29" slick for me.

mine is a 19 (th400 dex3)
coupled and pulled down to 5250 coming up on 1st gear
on the 1-2 dropped from 6200 and coupled at 5300 )
2-3 at 5750 pulled down to 5450
trapped 5850 138 on 28x10.5 slick

the 139 pass i shifted differently and had 1 psi less boost to the 1/8th
coming up on 1st coupled at 5150 (dropped from 5300)
1-2 shift at 5900 drop to 5300
2-3 shift 5750 drop back to 5400
trap (scaled says 5901 rpm says 5850) @ 139

i have a 17 on my 87X'd with a 2004r ,really dont miss the lockup and with classic fast thats one less switch i have to flip while driving

Congrats…. I'm going to take mine to the track pretty soon, hopefully I'll get a 9sec slip hell I have enough in it.:nailbiting:

As long as you have any external cooler you should be fine. Of course the bigger, the better though...you can't get a trans to cold.
