The 67 is my choice of turbo.

I've heard you say that before and started looking at them. Are you referring to journal bearing style? If so they are still reasonably priced.

The ball bearing will be slightly snappier, but I would rather by a journal bearing and a good PTC 9.5 converter than a ball bearing and try to run it with a crap converter. It is up to budget. Any of these turbos will benefit greatly from a good converter. Not just spool up, but coupling. All of the 6766s I have run have been journal bearing, and they spool very well.

Would it be a good fit with a 18 blade 9.5? Assuming the 85 housing is what you prefer?

9.9 or so as a goal, I use the .63 housing. Usually a 17 blade works best for the rpm range of the combos.
