Eric, alky chip and transmission wiring

My car pulls hard in 1st and 2nd gear. Once in 3rd it kinda falls flat. I haven't got a good log yet but I noticed when changing my trans fluid I dont have any wiring at all in the trans. My PL always has the 3rd and 4th lit up. My question is does it matter to the chip not having wiring in my trans and the computer not knowing what gear im in?

The ecm does know when it shifts into 3/4 vs 1/2. And if stock setup, the wires go into the trans for the lockup solenoid. The shifts are mechanical though so not a lot of wiring to be had.

The trans doesn't have any wiring at all. No lockup solenoid either. Does it know the gear by mph?. I have a plug but no wires. One of the pics is the inside side of the plug.
