I am rebuilding my 87 LC2 109 and I need to know the recommended rod bearings. Merkel recommends 3755APA from Federal Mogul. It looks like these have been obsoleted. I would like like use the wider bearings. I know I can use 3755A's which are stock width. I read that 3760A have obsoleted the 3755APA's.

Can someone confirm if the 3760A's have superceded the 3755APA's? Has anyone here used the 3760A's succesfully?

Thanks, Joe

I can't answer this but my engine builder might be able to help! Call Mike Lacuira at Wildcat engines @1-229-896-1566.

Order Clivite 77 bearings and you'll be fine. Just about ANY brand bearing will work fine, even aluminum bearings will work fine. Most OEM bearings today are aluminum and not tri-metal. Order a set from naparts.com (northern autoparts) or Summit Racing.

The FM's I used were wider, but I don't remember the part number. I tried searching for my thread (engine section), but finally gave up. The search function is definitely not what it used to be...
