Hey guys....just trying to resolve a dispute between 2 of my customers. Were the first Corvettes fiberglass or steel bodied? I'm thinkin' steel, but I'm not 100% sure.

Gokou is right, if memory serves.

The main difference between the very first 'vettes and all those that came later is that the first ones had only 6-cyl motors.

Fiberglass motors! Never head of such a thing! Sorry I couldn't help myself.:) Drew

definitly glass, I restored one.
I think the biggest diffrence is the early ones were gorgeous :D

Yea and if you look at one it sticks out like a sore thumb. One of the biggest complaints was the fact that they were not very good at glass then, so they were very wavy...not straight . There was also alot of variance from one car to the next.....in fit and finish...and location of accilary things....

Yeah, what were they thinking with the 83 model! That has to be the ugliest year of a 'vette. ;)
