My eagle crank came with the keyway already installed, using a rollmaster timing chain and the height of the keyway is maybe only halph of the slot on the crank gear. Has anyone seen this issue before and had problems with it? I would definitely be more comfortable with more engagement on the crank gear.

if the key were higher it probably wouldnt fit the balancer
on that note the key is for position not retention ,the balancer bolt at 220ftlb will hold the crank gear in place .
bigger keyway issue is the cam gear with billet cams and a small bolt to keep the gear in place which sucks and allows the gear to move breaking the key
